Minnesota

Practice Areas: All

Specialists: Yes; Specialist applications will be considered

Application Review: The Minnesota Department of Health, through the Office of Rural Health and Primary Care has reviewed and revised the Conrad 30 J-1Visa Waiver Program.  The revised program moved from a first in-first reviewed format to a competitive, committee selected process. In recent years, the program has filled available J-1 visa waivers shortly after the application period began.  The new process allows more applicants to submit an application, and will allow the state to prioritize waivers based on need.

Notes: All qualified applications are considered. Direct patient care only, no teaching or research. Up to 10 Flex waivers are available to non-HPSA/MUA locations that can demonstrate that a significant portion of their patients reside in a neighboring HPSA/MUA.
