Specialists: Yes; Specialists may apply but primary care physicians are prioritized.

Application Review: Applications are considered on a first-come first-served basis, but priority is given to primary care physicians and those with a Rhode Island residency.

Notes: The Rhode Island Department of Health will not approve applications that include employment contracts with “non-compete” clauses. Priority is given to primary care physicians and those whose residency was in Rhode Island.
