Practice Areas: Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN and Psychiatry

Specialists: Tennessee lists 35 accepted specialties, though other specialists may apply if there is a demonstrated need for their services.

Application Review: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Before June 30, 9 slots are reserved for specialists. After June 30, all spots are eligible to all employers.

Notes: All primary care providers must be placed in rural areas, while all specialists must have hospital associations. Only 1 specialist per hospital is allowed to be on J1 Status before April 1. Flex spots are qualifying criteria. Applications must arrive by certified mail from the sponsoring employer on behalf of the physician.
